Alison Godburn to Lead Maine Crafts Association and Shop Maine Craft as Executive Director.
The joint Board of Directors of the Maine Crafts Association and Shop Maine Craft is pleased to announce that Alison Godburn has been selected as the new Executive Director of both organizations.
Godburn has held executive positions in both for profit and nonprofit sectors including WGBH, The Arts and Business Council of Greater Boston, The Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and Coldwell Banker.
She brings years of experience in business operations, marketing and developing collaborative environments for others to excel and succeed. Her education in fine art and love for Maine round out the passion and expertise she brings to this new role.

Godburn succeeds Sadie Bliss, who after 13 years with the organization(s) announced her departure earlier this year. The two are working together to provide a smooth transition for the organization and the many important members, constituencies, partnerships, relationships, programs and initiatives.
Maine Crafts Association & Shop Maine Craft
In 2022 the Maine Crafts Association completed a restructuring process which resulted in two organizations that work together to advance all programming and create new opportunities for growth.
The MCA continues and expands the community-enriching education and outreach initiatives; and our new organization, Shop Maine Craft, is home to our sales-based events and retail opportunities.
The organizations work together and remain closely connected in many ways, including a shared board of directors and executive director. Linking the organizations through shared leadership ensures a mutually supportive and permanent relationship between the two organizations, each supporting Maine’s craft community in different but vital ways.
