I make old wood whales with wood salvaged from tear-downs of very old houses or from the ocean nearby my home in Kennebunkport, Maine. I enjoy all three aspects of this work - sourcing the wood, shaping the whales, then coloring, texturing and distressing where appropriate. I am a former teacher, executive and management consultant, in love with his partner of 30 years and quite fond of all four of my grandchildren
