Workshop Description:

This is a one-time wheel experience for those interested in learning wheel throwing fundamentals. The workshop will cover how to wedge clay, centering and pulling the walls of a clay vessel using a wheel. Students can expect to create two small bowls. The work will be bisque fired, glazed, and glaze fired after the workshop ends. Participants can pick up their work within two to three weeks. No prior experience or tools are needed. Participants must agree and adhere to masking while indoors at Hallowell Clay Center.

Instructor Bio:

Malley Weber is a ceramic artist and educator. She operates a teaching studio in Hallowell, Maine called Hallowell Clay Works. She also teaches Ceramic Art at the University of Maine at Augusta, Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts in Newcastle, and The Maine Arts Commission statewide K-12.

Registration details:

The registration limit is set at six students to allow for social distancing. After the class is filled, a waitlist will be created. Registrants must provide an image of their Covid-19 vaccination card at the time of registration. Your registration will not be considered complete without proof of vaccination.

If there is high interest in this course another workshop will be planned at a later date.

Refunds are available up until 24 hours prior to the event date, less a $25 cancellation fee.
