About the Artist
JHC Wood + Glass
I come from a long line of “creatively driven” people. My grandfather painted and carved, mostly animals, my Mom graduated from the Chicago Art Institute and painted and sculpted, and my Dad, after being a lawyer for twenty-five years, retired, moved on to a boat, and became an award-winning poet. All of my siblings are involved in art in one way or another, and now that is being carried on with the next generation, from muralists, to graphic designers, to fabric art. I think of myself as more of a tinkerer and a fidgeter than an artist. Rather than work at one thing, I work in many different media, including woodworking, stained glass, and use these materials to create a mixture of art pieces and custom home installations.
