About the Artist
Hagstone Design
Portland, ME
Inspired by Maine’s rocky coast, Emily Freeman has settled in Southern Maine creating sculptures and tableware with environmentally conscious, locally sourced undyed wools from New England farms.
Freeman discovered her love for felt making while on a volunteer trip to Wales to create a traditional yurt with an experienced felt maker. Learning this skill on such a massive scale gave her a grasp on a medium to express herself creatively. After completing her degree in design crafts, her ongoing travels and projects have allowed her to both develop and influence her craft.
