Lightweight and bold, these black 3″ oblong wooden earrings make a wonderful gift, adorned with the Adinkra symbol for “Greatness”. The earrings are finished with a sterling silver french hook.

Adinkra are the traditional symbols of Ghana, from which Ebenezer Akakpo draws much of his inspiration for his collections.  The traditional symbology of Ghanaian heritage inspire unique designs that carry personal and cultural power.

Growing up in Ghana, Ebenezer Akakpo was fascinated with the power that symbols had to convey the most important parts of our beliefs.  In moving to Maine he discovered a new visual language and began combining these symbols with those of his native country to create designs which are full of meaning, history and culture.  Ebenezer showcases the symbols of his new home in his Maine Culture line.
