Spalted Sabbathday Lake Maple Bowl | Jeff Enck

This striking specimen of spalted maple wood is from a two hundred year old maple tree, originally planted by Brother Delmer at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village here in Maine.  This bowl is hand turned by Jeff Enck and finished to a brilliant shine.  The half-inch rim is finished with a rough texture.

This bowl is approximately 9.5″ in diameter and just over 4″ deep.

This piece is currently at Maine Craft Portland.
