About the Artist
Dahlov Ipcar was an American author, painter and illustrator who moved to Maine in 1937 with her husband Adolph to live in the farm her family used to summer at on Georgetown Island. Over the course of four decades she wrote and illustrated over thirty children’s books. Despite passing away in December of 2017, her work is still recognized and enjoyed worldwide. Permanent collections of Ipcar’s art can be found in many renowned museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
