OVERVIEW
The Center for Maine Craft is the host of seasonal & holiday Pop-Up Shops featuring Maine artist-members of the MCA. Located in the West Gardiner Service Plaza, a different MCA member is invited for an exclusive showing of their work within the main lobby.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Pop-Up shops will be scheduled every Saturday from June 27 – August 22, 2019
Hours: 10am – 3pm
Location: 24 Service Plaza Dr. West Gardiner, ME 04345
Center for Maine Craft pop-up shops are scheduled during busy tourism and holiday seasons to provide Professional and Basic MCA artist-members with exclusive promotion of their work. This program provides Maine artists & craftspeople with an opportunity to engage a new audience, display seasonal and specialized merchandise, promote brand awareness and provide an overall experience not typically offered within a service plaza environment.
Positioned between Maine’s two major highways, I-95 and I-295, the West Gardiner Service Plaza services thousands of travelers daily during peak season (June through late August) and the holidays. Featured vendors are selected for specific dates based on these travel trends and historic Center sales.
Accepted media + activities: ceramics, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, wood, candles, food products, pet products, personal care, clothing, cards, calendars + stationery, prints + photography, musical performances + merch sales, books + book signings, and craft process demonstrations.
REGISTER
Starting March 1, 2020, the Center for Maine Craft will begin accepting Pop-Up Shop applications for summer 2020. Once accepted, fees apply to secure space: $25 registration fee for 8 x 8 booth space + 15% suggested donation of total sales to Maine Crafts Association.
Participants must be Maine residents, and be (or become) a Basic or Professional member of the MCA to qualify. Making a jury appointment with the MCA prior to booking is recommended to non-members. Please note that registration fees are non-refundable, which includes artist cancellations.
