Winter Artist-in-Residence January 7-February 29, 2020
The Center for Maine Craft Gallery will host fiber artist Sara Palumbo of Bath, ME in January and Feburary 2020 as Winter Artist-in-Residence. Sara will work in the public gallery space, creating Words into Wool, an art installation honoring the stories and history of people who call Maine their home. Join the artist and MCA for two special public events during the Residency period.
Demo Day: Friday, January 24 | Center hours: 9-6pm
Closing Reception: Saturday, February 29 | 3-6pm
Sara learned wet felting from Susan Mills in Bowdoinham, Maine and has been studying shamanism for the last several years. She completed a one-year shamanic apprenticeship with Windhorse Circle in Pownal, Maine along with Ancestral Medicine coursework with Dr. Daniel Foor. Shamanism and felting naturally meld together in her work.
