Styling Workshop: Learn to Create Compelling Images
with Basha Burwell
It’s more important than ever to be able to utilize technology to digitally present your work to the world. The internet and social media is an endless sea of imagery. It can be quite easy to get lost in the shuffle. Join Stylist + Art Director, Basha Burwell, for this one-of-a-kind styling workshop! She will introduce you to her line work, and teach you some tips and tricks to create interesting images containing your work. This unique workshop is for craftspeople + makers wanting to improve the skills necessary to present your craft through photographic images. This workshop will prepare you with the tools needed to successfully conceptualize, plan, produce, and even shoot creative and memorable still life images featuring your craft objects. The primary focus will be on composition, proper lighting and the use of editing tools and props.

What to Bring
Whatever camera you already possess (smartphone, point and shoot, dslr)
Craft object(s) and any props; fabric, papers, blocks/risers.
Originally from Maine, Basha splits her time between Brooklin, ME and Cambridge MA. She is a commercial photo Art Director and Stylist with a roster of national clients. Since the early 90’s Basha has been making and photographing her own line of handcrafted Silver & Gold Jewelry . Basha prides herself on a certain “scrappy” resourcefulness and adventurous spirit. Although
teaching is not on her current resume, working with makers, designers, and teams of creatives is her forte.
