FOR HIRE

Jewelry & Metalsmith Studio Assistant

Greetings fellow crafters! I am a seasoned professional studio assistant specializing in contemporary art jewelry and silversmithing. I have spent my career celebrating and lifting up visionary artists whose goals are greater than one person can accomplish alone.

I have a broad collection of traditional jewelry making hand skills as well as training in more modern jewelry making technologies. I have a Bachelor of Fine art in jewelry and metalwork from the University of Louisiana under Cody Bush and 14 years experience as a production assistant under nationally recognized artisans and brands including Lisa Crowder, Ananda Khalsa, and James Avery Craftsman. I have operated as a sole assistant, on small teams, and as a Product Development Process Technician at a company of 5000.

I am comfortable wearing many of the hats needed to run a successful artisan craft business including fabrication, quality control, template and production design and development, supervising and training, copy writing and editing, and overall studio management. But the thing I do best and love most is sitting at the bench with a long list and getting through it with speed, momentum, and accuracy. Production is my jam.

I would love to join your team, whether you’re brand new to the scene or a seasoned veteran. I have excellent references. I am available as full time or part time, contract or employee. Rate negotiable.

SEEKING

Artwork donations

Pine Tree Camp is seeking item donations for their annual auction to support their programming. Pine Tree Camp is an accessible, American Camp Association accredited camp on North Pond in Rome. For more than 80 years, we have ensured that Maine children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities have full access to the outdoors. We offer five miles of accessible hiking trails, adaptable archeryadaptable bikes, a wheelchair accessible treehousefishing, and a fully inclusive campus where every activity is designed for every ability. For many of our campers, this is the only time they can be outdoors all year. It is also the only respite their caregivers receive, which makes this time at camp essential to Mainers and their families.

Our Open Door Policy guarantees that no one has ever been turned away in more than 80 years due to inability to pay. Each year, we award more than eight hundred thousand dollars in financial aid to make that possible. We receive no state or federal funding and rely on fundraising events like this auction to keep that promise to Maine families.

Our winter fundraiser auction is a well established event ( our 53rd this year!) and is very well attended, with strong support from community members, families, and businesses who care about access and inclusion. The auction is always a major highlight of the weekend, and items that feature Maine made work and local creativity consistently draw a lot of interest.

We would recognize the artists’ support in our auction program, during the event, and through our partner materials. This fundraiser is really important for Mainers with disabilities, and a contribution would directly support their ability to experience Pine Tree Camp. As we receive no state or federal funding we rely on these fundraising events and community support to keep our camp operating.

Any donation would be tax deductible and they would be recognized during the auction and could include any marketing material if they would like.
