Metalsmithing Internship for Deering High School Student
A Deering High School teen (going into their Junior year) is interested in an internship with a jeweler in the Portland area (preferably) for the summer of 2022. This student has been working with small hand tools and with metals for the last 2 years. The amount of work he has completed so far is very impressive for his age.
Objective: for a high school student gain access to a working studio space and learn hands-on what it looks like to be a full-time, professional jewelry maker/metalsmith.
Paid internship: This internship also comes with potential funding from a District-wide Summer
Time: The schedule and number of hours is determined by both the student and the host. The duration of the internship would preferably be 4-8 weeks, 1-2x a week.
Support team: The role of the ELO Coordinator is purely for support and communication around any issues that may arise.
