Kiln Rental

I have some wild clay from Maine. It has been tested three times at Portland Pottery and Maine College of Art, but I don’t know yet at what temperature it will vitrify, and I want to find out. I will pay someone to do a few test firings. Once I find the best temperature, I would like to continue and make some pieces that would also need to be fired.

A 20-year veteran of pottery making who works with wild clay, says it cannot typically be fired beyond Cone 01, so I would like to start there.

Will pay in cash for the firings. I’m also willing to make other types of arrangements including a work exchange or doing a trade (I currently have an old e310 desktop to offer). Happy to send photos upon request of the test pieces that have already been fired.

Industrial Slip Casting Table

Lehman Industrial Slip Casting Table: This Slip Casting Table is made for industrial-scale production with plaster slip casting molds. The open-top design is perfect for draining molds into. This is a large piece of equipment with a fiberglass tank that holds 30 gallons. The top is covered with dowels that can be removed individually. This also comes with a custom wood tabletop cover. Has a functioning mixing motor and slip-pump nozzle. This is the perfect piece of equipment for a large production studio. This is too big for our educational use at the college. It does not get used enough and is too large for our space. We are hoping it finds a home with a dedicated production slip caster. They don’t make tables this big anymore; smaller, newer ones sell for over 1500. Asking $1000.00.
