When Hannah Tarkinson founded Ponomo in a basement studio in 2001, her goal was to create one-of-a-kind leather handbags. More than 20 years later her brand lives on and Hannah is a proud working artist serving a community of vintage and grunge lovers. Having built a loyal customer base and made a name for herself within fashion circles, she was able to evolve her line and begin creating other pieces such as jewelry and leather accessories. Her pieces have been displayed in museums, and her business has expanded to specialty boutiques, a dedicated e-commerce site, and a busy studio in Portland, Maine’s thriving East Bayside. Ponomo pieces are crafted with technique and love from the founder herself. Also a musician and vintage forager – Hannah creates many of her pieces by finding vintage and antique metals, tools, products, and out of date technology to create her intricate jewelry pieces. A master at putting the pieces together, Hannah creates one of a kind goods with a story you will never want to forget.

You can find a variety of the Ponomo Brand at Maine Craft Portland including belts, leather fanny packs/cross over bags, rings, bracelets, necklaces, keychains, and more.
