Collaboration Award Winner for Maine Craft Weekend!

The Maine Crafts Association was awarded a 2023 Maine Tourism Award at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism on March 28th. Governor Janet Mills presented the Collaboration Award to Executive Director Alison Godburn for Maine Craft Weekend, which in partnership with Maine Made, is an annual statewide tour of fine craft studios, businesses, and events.

“Maine Craft Weekend creates statewide opportunities for artists to share their work and for the public to learn, connect and support Maine’s creative economy, I am honored to accept this award on behalf of the Maine Crafts Association, and all the talented craft artists who participate in this annual fall event.” – Alison Godburn

“The 2023 award recipients demonstrate an adaptability and vision that is critical to the sustainability of Maine’s tourism industry,” said Steve Lyons, Director of the Maine Office of Tourism. “This year’s awards once again recognize the success of group efforts and collaborations, as well as individual accomplishments.”

The Governor’s Conference on Tourism also featured remarks from Governor Janet Mills and the release of new data showing that Maine’s tourism and hospitality industry continues to benefit from growing demand for travel and increasing awareness of Maine as a world-class destination.
