Anita Roelz of Circle Stone Designs
I am a metalsmith who is primarily self-taught working out of my home studio on Montsweag Bay. I use antique hammers and anvil to create each piece of my jewelry imparting a one of a kind texture in each piece. The nature of the hammer blows define the patterns in the final work. Each piece is rugged in structure and bold in its simplicity. I create both Maine beach stone jewelry as well as ethically sourced gemstone pieces in recycled silver and gold. It is my intent that the designs convey a rugged strength and an elemental design so that they can be worn every day by both men and women. I am continuously inspired by the life I lead and nature I enjoy here in Maine and reflect this joy in every blow of my hammer.
