David Orser and Laurel MacDuffie of Cedar Mountain Potters

David Orser and Laurel MacDuffie make high fired pottery and sculpture. We use stoneware and porcelain clays and fire primarily in salt, wood and gas reduction atmospheres. We each make our own individual bodies of work. David’s focus is towards forms and glazes inspired by historical Asian wares. Laurel is inspired by the massiveness and simplicity of Early American forms and surfaces. That said, our work constantly evolves with our interests and eludes categorization.
