Video featuring printmaker Nicole Manganelli

Meet Nicole —

Nicole is the printmaker behind the press(es) at radical emprints. She started to learn letterpress printing in 2012 in a workshop with David Wolfe, just as she was also beginning to learn about grassroots organizing. Nicole ended up spending about nine years at a base-building organization, where she worked on a health care is a human right campaign and she learned & then started teaching about grassroots fundraising and principled, values-aligned grantwriting (both for when she’s working in orgs within and outside of the non-profit industrial complex.) Nicole was doing all of this while learning how to be a letterpress printer — so it was a natural progression to start putting printmaking & organizing together.

Nicole still does fundraising training with movement organizations as a facilitator with Resource Organizing Project, but now printmaking & poetry are also a big part of her contributions to the movement for collective liberation.

NEW! Nicole is now offering her prints & cards wholesale to bookstores, retail stores, & nonprofits: wholesaleradical.com and can also offer bulk discounts for large orders from movement organizations, whether or not they are nonprofits.

Why a video? “I chose a video because I think that letterpress printing is really interesting to watch, and a lot of folks still don’t have the opportunity to see this kind of behind-the-scenes video about the process. I’m so grateful to Sturdy Production for their beautiful & thoughtful filming, to Pickwick Independent Press for the opportunity to be a member of such a supportive and engaged community printshop, and to MCA for making the video possible.” – Nicole Manganelli
