Maine Crafts Association is pleased to welcome Kimberly Becker of K. Becker to the Stitch 2025 Runway and Style Market!
Kimberly Becker, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, began her career as a textile designer before immersing herself in the fashion industry in New York City’s garment district. She was also trained as a haute couture embroiderer at Ecole Lesage in Paris, France. Kimberly established K. Becker in Woolwich, ME, where she creates original designs in her studio and welcomes customers to make an appointment to come in for a personal style session.
Her target audience is women, 40 and older, who have spent a lifetime honing their personal style and refuse to fade into the background in mediocre fast fashion. These women are professionals, empty nesters, founders, perhaps retirees, who are looking for better…. better fit, better quality and they really care about who is sewing their clothes and how they are being made. With the goal of offering a capsule closet, each piece is carefully thought out, several samples made to be certain of fit, drape and comfort, and the highest quality fabrics are chosen to ensure each piece will be a got-to garment in your closet for years to come.

K. Becker Designs is committed to lowering their carbon footprint by using high-quality materials and sewing techniques to ensure that their clothing lasts for many years. Their garments are manufactured in small batches, lowering the environmental impact by not overproducing, and they use deadstock fabric whenever possible to further support a circular life for the fabric and help keep overstock out of landfills.
All K. Becker garments are ethically sewn by a family run team in New York’s Garment District. This greatly reduces shipping costs, as they are not being flown in from China before they reach the customer. K. Becker knitwear is made on demand in Brooklyn using 3D knitting machines that produce nearly zero waste in the manufacturing.

They also have a buy-back program for their garments, offering merchandise credit towards a future purchase. These garments are then cleaned, mended, and re-listed at a discount on the website. This program continues a circular lifespan for the garments.
A passionate feminist, Kimberly is dedicated to empowering women worldwide. Kimberly spearheaded the installation of schoolyard bathrooms for girls in rural Uganda, enabling them to continue their education beyond age 12 when many drop out due to menstruation. Additionally, through a portion of the profits, K. Becker supports access to women’s health to underserved women across the United States.

She greatly encourages each of you to find her after the Stitch runway show and introduce yourself. K. Becker is participating in the Stitch Style Market and will have designs available to shop in person. Please also go to her website and add your name to her email list to stay in touch. She HATES being flooded with emails herself, so she is careful to only email when she has something really exciting to share- a new garment, a clever story or a pop up or market she will be at, like this one!
