MCA Members are Invited to a Free Wholesale 101 Workshop

Location:  Amy Sirois & Tracy Palm’s home/office/workspace of Salt Air Designs – 12 Colby Drive, Scarborough ME

Who Should Attend: NEM participants who are NEW to wholesale selling and/or artists/craftspeople who are thinking of doing the show in fall 2017 or spring 2018 and want support. In the spirit of helping each other to succeed, we are offering an opportunity for artists to have open discussion and sharing of experiences with the NEM show and wholesale selling No cost to attend, but participants are asked to bring a small snack & drinks for the snack/drinks table.

AGENDA

Welcome: 12:15 – 45 minutes – Gregg Shapiro of NEM will introduce himself and the presenters and lead the attendees in introducing themselves briefly.  Gregg will then address the questions of WHY wholesale? How do you know it’s for you/your business?  How do you figure out if you can profit with the pricing methods for wholesale?

Booth Design: 1:00 – 45 minutes – Tracy Palm of Salt Air Designs will present on considerations for a well-designed, functional trade show booth.  Other presenters are encouraged to contribute.

Selling: 1:45 – 45 minutes – Ellen Thayer of Love Rocks ME will share tips for selling to shop owners at trade shows – how to prepare, what to say, how to interact for success.

Paperwork: 2:30 – 45 minutes – Sadie Bliss, Maine Crafts Association will go over wholesale line sheets, catalogs, order forms and other marketing materials for the show.

Q & A: 3:15 – 45 minutes – Gregg Shapiro of NEM will facilitate a Q&A panel session
