In Memory of Josephine E. Diggs
Maine Crafts Association honors the memory of Jo Diggs, a Maine quilt and applique artist, teacher, and long-time supporter of the Maine Crafts Association. Jo Diggs passed away peacefully Sept. 10, 2022.
Fondly remembered as “fiercely independent, with a brilliant, logical, ethical, and creative mind and sharp sense of humor”, Jo is well known for her quilted landscapes made with great depth, distance and light. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally for over 60 years, and is published in many books and magazines including Quilters Newsletter and American Quilter Magazine. Jo is also remembered throughout New England as a renowned teacher, dedicated to helping other stitchers achieve success and pleasure in their own work. Jo’s quilts will be included in a curated exhibit at the New England Quilt Museum in 2024.
